TRAFALGAR, Ind. — A Trafalgar man reportedly molested three children over a seven-year span in Johnson County.
According to court documents filed earlier this month, 70-year-old Richard Stahl has been charged with:
- Two counts of child molesting – fondling or touching a child under 14, each a Level 4 felony
- One count of battery on a person less than 14 years old, a Level 6 felony
In December 2024, a woman contacted the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office alleging that Stahl had molested her daughter. The documents stated that her daughter attended a body safety presentation at school and later said she had been inappropriately touched by “Bubby,” or Stahl. The woman’s other two daughters also reportedly said that Stahl touched them inappropriately.
The woman reportedly confronted Stahl about it in the parking lot of the Edinburgh Legion. The documents said that Stahl reportedly “acknowledged the allegation and said he did it.”
“…After (Stahl) admitted to (the woman) that he touched her daughters inappropriately, she punched him in the face,” the court documents said.
