INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — An Indianapolis woman is alleged to have created dozens of fake identification cards to purchase a variety of things from housing to luxury goods, and even tractors.
On Dec. 23, 2023, the Indiana State Police received a report of a crime from the Fishers Police Department and launched an investigation. The victim reported there were lines of credit opened up in her name at a John Deere dealership in Atlanta.
The suspect, Diara Jernigan, reportedly tried to purchase a John Deere X390 Tractor for $7,274.93, but having been a victim to similar scams, the store insisted that she come in to make the purchase due to the inconsistencies with Jernigan’s ability to submit proper ID, pin numbers and addresses. Jernigan then allegedly called other John Deere locations, but she was denied.
