Marion County has clinched over $4 million in grants for road and bridge upgrades, as Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program distributes more than $200 million to local communities this year; Beech Grove, Cumberland, Indianapolis, Lawrence, Rocky Ripple, Southport, and Wynnedale are among those slated to receive a financial boost for infrastructure efforts.
According to an announcement from State Rep. Julie McGuire (R-Indianapolis), the program aims to improve roads, bridges, intersections and a variety of other infrastructure needs ensuring that communities like Marion County are not left behind as infrastructure ages and populations grow, the state further distinguished itself recently by receiving accolades from Consumer Affairs for its outstanding road conditions and a noteworthy low rate of traffic fatalities.
