The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has forecasted overcast skies and mild temperatures for early this morning, with humidity at a high of 93%. As the day progresses, residents should brace for scattered showers and possible severe thunderstorms, according to the latest NWS report. Temperatures are expected to peak near 73 degrees with gusts reaching up to 28 mph.
“Scattered showers before 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some of the storms could be severe.” warns the NWS. With a 60% chance of precipitation, Indianapolis could see rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.
The outlook doesn’t improve as the day turns into night, with 80% chances of showers and thunderstorms before giving way to isolated showers post-2am.
