The Eastside Bids Farewell to Chuck E. Cheese 😢
Y’all… it’s officially the end of an era. The Chuck E. Cheese on East Washington Street has closed its doors for good as of March 31, 2025.
If you grew up on the Eastside, this one hurts. That spot has been around since 2011, and before that? It was the OG ShowBiz Pizza Place that opened back in 1982. That building raised generations of kids—from wild birthday parties to Saturday afternoons full of tokens, tickets, and those legendary animatronic performances.
And let me tell you, this was the last Chuck E. Cheese in Indy that still had the classic animatronic Chuck E. 👀 NOSTALGIA!
CEC Entertainment (that’s the parent company) says they shut it down due to lease issues and shifting their focus to better serve families. But truth be told, the whole Washington Square area has been slowly fading. We’ve already lost Burlington, Joanns’, and Golden Corral. It’s rough seeing the Eastside lose so many staples we grew up with….
