Thousands of Hoosiers could lose access to Medicaid under the contentious priority bill Indiana lawmakers sent Gov. Mike Braun’s desk, which calls for more stringent eligibility checks, work requirements and limits on enrollment.
The Senate gave final approval to Senate Bill 2 by a 37-10 vote Thursday, though in some respect, Braun beat them to the punch: On Tuesday, he signed an executive order that contains many of the same directives for his Family and Social Services Administration as the bill does, indicating the governor’s full endorsement of the Medicaid crackdown.
