Men arrested after chase and crash in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two men were arrested after dancing with firearms and the pursuit of a car in the early morning hours Sunday on the south side of Indianapolis, police say.

Officers about 2 a.m. Sunday saw a large number of vehicles in the 4200 block of South Meridian Street in and around Southern Plaza and the AMC Indianapolis 17 movie theater, just northwest of the U.S. 31 interchange for I-465. Officers also saw two men dancing on top of a vehicle with firearms. One of the males pointed a firearm toward a crowd, prompting police action.

Police say Selvin Cruz, 18, and Erick Sanchez, 19, attempted to flee in a car when officers approached. A short pursuit ensued, ending with police using a maneuver to cause the car to spin out of control. Cruz and Sanchez fled on foot after the car was stopped but were quickly apprehended with the assistance of an Indiana State Police helicopter…
