Indianapolis SWAT Teams Up with Indiana Crime Guns Task Force, Suspect Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

In a collaborative effort to clamp down on illegal firearms and drug distribution in Indiana, the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF), with a hand from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s SWAT team, executed a search warrant that culminated in the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect. Last Thursday, law enforcement officers descended upon a home located at the 9000 block of Pendleton Pike, conducting a search that led to both the discovery of illicit items and an arrest.

According to a Facebook update from IMPD News, the search resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms and controlled substances. Specifically, law enforcement found “4 handguns, 7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 10 grams of marijuana, and $650 in U.S. currency.” With the area secured, officers arrested Andrea Burnett, who was not only facing drug and firearm charges but also had two active Marion County warrants for a Level 6 Felony Auto Theft and a Level 6 Felony Possession of a Narcotic Drug.

Upon being taken into custody without incident, Burnett was slapped with additional charges related to his alleged dealing of methamphetamine, possession of said controlled substance, and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
