Former deputy accused of shoplifting while in uniform

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A former Marion County deputy faces charges after police say he was caught on camera, sometimes while in uniform, shoplifting several times from an east-side Walmart.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Timothy Beavo was fired on April 2, just days after he was caught stealing a bottle of fish oil supplements from the Walmart in the 10000 block of East Washington Street. He’d been with the sheriff’s office since 2002.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the shoplifting incident on March 30 was one of eight Walmart thefts connected to Beavo, the spree dating back to early February…
