Texas academy helps storm-stricken Good News Ministries in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A group of young men from the International ALERT Academy in Texas spent a week in Indianapolis from the end of April and into May, offering hands-on help to the Good News Ministries homeless shelters and health clinic after recent storms.

ALERT stands for air land emergency resource team. The academy is a post-high school, Christian discipleship and training program that prepares young men for service through a military-style structure, discipleship, and professional skills training.

The group tackled storm cleanup, repaired bicycles, and spent time bringing smiles to children. Their visit, though brief, left a lasting impression…
