FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A new law aimed at increasing protection for survivors and families of domestic violence is set to take effect in Indiana this summer, but local advocates say it’s just a starting point in addressing a much deeper issue.
Beginning July 1, Senate Enrolled Act 324, signed into law by Governor Mike Braun, will require courts to consider electronic monitoring for individuals charged with domestic violence.
