INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dozens of people face legal trouble after the newest push against street racing, spinning, burnouts, donuts, and more in Indianapolis.
According to IMPD, a weekend crackdown on dangerous and illegal driving netted:
- 11 arrests.
- 68 citations.
- 7 towed cars.
In a new post, IMPD says officers and State Troopers first confronted a chaotic scene with hundreds of trucks and cars on the west side of Indianapolis. Investigators say they saw criminal recklessness, illegal racing, driving under the influence, and driving on a suspended license. IMPD officers used the department’s squad vehicle-mounted “grappler” system and the ISP helicopter to intercept vehicles and shut down the situation.
