HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials with the Indiana Department of Correction say a Warrick County man who was convicted of the murder of three people nearly 30 years ago has died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 61 at the Miami Correctional Facility north of Kokomo.
John Stephenson was convicted of murdering Jay and Kathy Tyler and Brandy Southard after chasing them in a vehicle to an intersection in Warrick County. Authorities say Stephenson fired an assault rifle into the pickup truck and stabbed the victims repeatedly on March 28, 1996.
