INDIANAPOLIS — This weekend, downtown Indianapolis will be the center of the city’s Pride events.
On Wednesday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department released information about weekend street closures in downtown Indianapolis.
According to a post on the department’s social media, officials said that there will be several road closures this weekend “to ensure a safe and joyful Pride weekend.” This includes:
- Mass Ave.: closed on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- The Circle: closed on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- North Street: closed from Wednesday through Monday
- St. Clair Street: closed from Friday through Sunday.
This comes as several events are occurring this weekend for Indy Pride, including an Indy Pride Parade on Mass Ave. from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. Officials said on its website that the parade will bring together thousands of people from across the city.

“Expect a spectacle of floats, marchers, community organizations, LGBTQ+ advocacy groups, and local businesses, all united in celebration to bring queer joy home,” the website said. “…This parade is more than just a celebration—it’s a movement. It’s a chance to unite, honor our history, and stand together in solidarity for a future of joy, love, and equal rights.”
Indy Pride will also host Celebration on the Circle from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Monument Circle. The website said this free event will include local art vendors, food vendors, drag performances and more…
