CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Work on the Carroll Cropper Bridge, which connects Kentucky and Indiana over the Ohio River, is progressing after a delay caused by a rare bird species nesting under the structure.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reported that steel repairs on the bridge were paused when peregrine falcons were discovered nesting there.
Crews waited until the eggs hatched and the chicks were old enough to fly before resuming work.
