INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a shooting nine days ago in an industrial and residential area on the Indianapolis east side, police said Tuesday in a social media post.
He was arrested on a preliminary felony charge of criminal recklessness and a preliminary misdemeanor charges of dangerous possession of a firearm by a minor. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine whether he will face formal charges. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department did not share the boy’s name. Juveniles’ court records in Indiana are kept confidential unless the juvenile is charged as an adult.
The Indiana Guns Crime Task Force, made of up several law enforcement agencies, was formed in 2021 to combat gun violence and illegal firearm possession in central Indiana.
