INDIANAPOLIS — The former Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis is being renovated by Marian University as part of a planned $137 million investment from the school near northwest Indianapolis.
The recently founded Riverside Education Innovation District project focuses on the renovation of Larue D. Carter Memorial Hospital, 2601 Cold Spring Road, which closed its doors in 2020. Indiana Gov. Mike Braun and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett attended a launch event for the renovations on Wednesday, July 9.
Cold Springs Innovation Corp., affiliated with Marian University, is leading the effort. The main initiative is to transform the facility into a neighborhood center that provides educational programs and resources for the workforce.
