Indianapolis residents voice concerns over proposed AES rate hike
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — More than 50 people showed up at the town hall hosted by nonprofit group Citizens Action Coalition. The meeting Wednesday evening was educational, but also it became a place to sound off concerns about AES’ proposed rate hike. Resident Rachel Hardy has lived in Indianapolis for more than 20 years. She told News 8 her bill increased by $89 just in the past month, going up from $145 last month to $234.
“My house is small and I do everything I can to keep my electric use low. Whether it’s yelling at my kids to turn off all the lights, even changing the thermostat when I thought it would help. It didn’t help.”
