Indianapolis, Ind. – A strong thunderstorm is sweeping across Johnson and southeastern Marion counties Tuesday afternoon, bringing wind gusts up to 50 mph and the potential for minor damage. The system was located 16 miles south of Indianapolis around 2 p.m., moving east at 25 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm will impact Indianapolis, Greenwood, Franklin, Southport, New Whiteland, Whiteland, and Bargersville through at least 2:30 p.m. Gusty winds could snap small branches, knock down tree limbs, and scatter unsecured outdoor items.
