‘Open the register and nobody has to get hurt’: 2 Indy men sentenced to federal prison for armed robbery at CVS

INDIANAPOLIS — Two Indy men have received federal prison sentences after being convicted for their respective roles in an armed robbery at a CVS in Speedway last year.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Indiana, 45-year-old John Rice was sentenced to six years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to interference with commerce by robbery and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Robert Larue, 29, received an eight-year sentence followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the same charges in addition to unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon…
