Mid-North Food Pantry serves record number of families in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Mid-North Food Pantry in Indianapolis is experiencing unprecedented demand, serving 233 families in a two-hour shift as of their latest Saturday pantry event.

Located at 3333 N. Meridian St., the pantry operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry serves low or no-income individuals and has seen a significant increase in demand due to rising food prices.

“We’re seeing need like nothing we’ve ever seen in our 40 plus years,” Kelsey Burton, executive director of the pantry, said. “Families are just so grateful that we have these services in the community.”…
