Man injured in shooting in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A man was injured in a shooting in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday night.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were sent to the 900 block of Fort Wayne Avenue around 8:30 p.m. to investigate a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds lying in the street.

Officers applied a tourniquet to the man’s injuries and rendered additional aid until medics arrived at the scene. Medics later transported the victim from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition…
