Indiana State Police arrest Daviess County man after vehicle chase
VINCENNES, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police troopers arrested a man from Daviess County after a brief vehicle chase on Friday night.
At 11:40 p.m. Friday, an ISP trooper stopped the driver of a black Jeep for disregarding a traffic light on State Road 550 at State Road 67 in Bruceville, Indiana. The driver was identified as Ian Stewart, 40, of Washington, Indiana. Stewart displayed signs of impairment.
Moments later, additional officers from Indiana State Police and deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrived to the scene to assist. Stewart was instructed to exit his vehicle so field sobriety tests could be conducted, but he refused. A trooper opened the Jeep’s driver’s side door and again instructed Stewart to exit, but Stewart put his vehicle in drive and fled south on State Road 67 from Thompson Road, just south of Church Road…
