TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The John Martin Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution held a ribeye cookout to help raise money for the services they provide in the community.
For $12, people would be able to get a ribeye sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink. Baeslers Market provided the food for the cookout, and the SAR kept the money from the cookout after covering the cost of the food that Baeslers provided. President of the Indiana Society for the Sons of the American Revolution, William Behnke, spoke on what they do in the community.
“We serve coffee and cookies to the veterans at the clinic once a month,” Behnke said. “We mark and dedicate graves, recognize Revolutionary War patriots that are buried in Indiana by doing grave markings. We make donations to the veterans. We are a patriotic lineage society that is not partisan, for purposes of promoting patriotism and the founding principles of our country.”…
