IMPD increases patrols around schools

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has increased its patrols at some schools in light of the Aug. 27 Catholic church and school shooting in Minneapolis.

Police in the IMPD North District said students, parents and staff at about 20 religious schools on the north side of Indianapolis should expect more police presence for several weeks.

The Annunciation Catholic School is picking up the pieces after a shooter killed two students and injured more than dozen others sitting in the pews during Mass at the school’s Minneapolis church…
