DNA ties man to 2016 rape of 13-year-old girl on Monon Trail
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office said there’s new evidence that links an accused Monon Trail attacker to the rape of a 13-year-old nearly 10 years ago.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said it was DNA evidence that tied 27-year-old Larry Duerson Jr. to that unsolved case.
“It doesn’t occur often, but it’s in one of these situations to be able to, nine years later, go to a family and say, ‘Now we’re in a position to file charges,’ is something everybody is grateful for,” Mears said. “We got an opportunity to do that.”…
