INDIANAPOLIS, IN — An Indiana man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison, with two years suspended, after a violent kidnapping spree that stretched from Elkhart to Indianapolis. Authorities confirmed that Dhantori Honorable pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, firearm possession, and domestic violence.
Crime Spree Begins in Elkhart
The case dates back to January 17, 2024, when Honorable allegedly shot his 61-year-old grandfather in Elkhart, a charge for which he is still awaiting trial. Shortly after, prosecutors said he forced his girlfriend and her two children — a seven-year-old girl and a seven-month-old baby — into a car at gunpoint.
During the drive, Honorable reportedly struck his girlfriend repeatedly and fired his handgun at least 30 times while traveling toward Indianapolis. The escalating violence left his victims terrified and police scrambling to locate him.
Harrowing Events at Gas Stations
Once in Indianapolis, the ordeal intensified. Honorable allegedly demanded his girlfriend enter a gas station to buy alcohol and cigarillos, at one point instructing her to “sell herself” to obtain money.
The situation became even more alarming when he attempted to throw the baby from a car seat and tried pulling the seven-year-old from the vehicle through a window. Unable to remove her, Honorable pointed a gun at the child’s head and fired — narrowly missing.…
