Battery with a deadly weapon charges for Indianapolis man

BREMEN — On Sept. 25,​ at 1 p.m., a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy responded to the report of a suspicious person walking on the railroad tracks in the area of US 6 and Beech Road.

Upon arrival,​ the K-9 Deputy made contact with a male subject,​ later identified as 35-year-old Samuel Lian of Indianapolis,​ walking on the railroad tracks. Upon making contact with Lian,​ he was asked to stop trespassing on the railroad property numerous times. Lian refused to comply with the officer’s requests and commands for approximately 30 minutes. When officers attempted to approach him,​ Lian proceeded to resist and batter law enforcement with a deadly weapon.
