Last week, 21-year-old Luis Leyba-Gonzalez was sentenced in connection with a crash that killed three people. Investigators said he was out on a joyride when he was involved in a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.
His brother and his cousin, identified as 14-year-old Christian Leyba-Gonzalez and 32-year-old Jose Gonzalez Jr., died in the crash. Makayla Hankins, 21, was also killed after Leyba-Gonzalez ran a red light and slammed into her car at the intersection of 10th Street and Mitthoefer Road.
The crash happened on Sept. 26, 2023.
