City and AES propose deal on rate increase – Midday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A nonprofit and a state agency are speaking out against a proposed settlement between the city and a local utility.

On Wednesday, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works announced that it and several area companies have reached a deal with AES Indiana that lowers a proposed increase to electric rates in the city.

Under the settlement, power bills would still go up — just not as sharply as the utility originally proposed…
