19-year-old arrested for August shootings
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives have arrested a 19-year-old for his alleged involvement in two separate incidents.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, just after 2 a.m., IMPD North District officers responded to the 3800 block of North Sherman Drive on a report of a burglary in progress. While on the way, officers were informed by dispatch that shots had just been fired into the home. When officers arrived, they found a man with a graze wound.
IMPD aggravated assault detectives responded to the scene and spoke to several cooperative witnesses. Detectives also learned that officers had responded to the same home four days earlier on a report of shots being fired into the house while people were inside. IMPD aggravated assault detectives worked with the North District Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) and the Indiana Crime Gus Task Force (ICGTF), and they determined the two incident were related.
