U.S. Marine, Based In North Carolina, Accused Of Cross-Country Kidnap Plot Targeting Indiana 12-Year-Old

An active-duty U.S. Marine, William Richard Roy, 24, of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, has been arrested on federal charges after allegedly traveling from North Carolina to Indiana to meet, kidnap, and sexually assault a 12-year-old girl from Indiana.

Roy was taken into custody by the FBI in Durham, North Carolina, on October 26, 2025. He faces charges including Enticement of a Minor to Travel for Illicit Sexual Activity, Transportation of a Minor to Engage in Illicit Sexual Activity, and Interstate Travel with Intent to Engage in a Sexual Act with a Minor.
