INDIANAPOLIS — Two individuals were shot on the near northwest side of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:48 p.m. to the 700 block of Edgement Avenue on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Authorities told the FOX59 and CBS4 news team that the two people were shot after a person was reportedly “playing with a gun.” IMPD investigators have indicated that they believe the shooting was accidental in nature. Police also reported that the shooting likely occurred inside a residence.
