MOORESVILLE, Ind. — A former Mooresville High School student who spent over a year planning to shoot and kill students on campus has now been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Trinity Shockley pled guilty last month in Morgan County to one count of conspiracy to commit murder, a level 2 felony. The 18-year-old was then sentenced Monday to 12 years in state prison and five years of probation upon release. Shockley was also fined $590, court documents show.
The charge against Shockley stems from a police investigation that revealed the student was obsessed with other mass murderers and intended to kill her fellow students at Mooresville High School.
Police received an anonymous tip in February that a person, later identified as Shockley, was planning a mass shooting at the school. The tip, which was submitted to the FBI’s Sandy Hook Tip Line, said Shockley had access to an AR-15 rifle and had ordered a bulletproof vest…
