East Indianapolis apartment tenants raise health, safety concerns over trash pileup

INDIANAPOLIS — People living on the east side of Indianapolis say they’re fed up after watching a mountain of trash grow just feet from their doorsteps. Tenants at Braeburn Village Apartments tell FOX59/CBS4 their only trash compactor has been down for days, leaving piles of garbage and safety concerns along a school bus route.

“It’s just unsightly, it’s just unhealthy,” one tenant said. “If I had known it were this bad, I would not have moved here.”

And the problems keep piling up. People living at Braeburn Village Apartments say the eyesore has become the norm, as the majority of the complex uses one site to dump their trash. Then it sits, especially when the compactor’s broken like it is right now…
