Multiple schools in Indiana announce closures for Friday

INDIANA — Schools across Indiana announced widespread closures, delays, and shifts to virtual learning for Friday, December 12, 2025, as winter weather is expected to create hazardous morning travel. Many districts opted for two-hour delays, while others moved instruction entirely online.

In Madison and Lawrence counties, Anderson Community Schools, Anderson Preparatory Academy, Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, Lawrence County Independent Schools, Mitchell Community Schools, Spencer-Owen Community Schools, and Springville Community Academy will all open two hours late.

The Bloomfield School District and Shakamak Schools MSD will operate with synchronous e-learning, while Brooke’s Place and Shepherd Community Center will offer online-only services. Central Christian Academy will be closed
