Indiana man arrested for allegedly faking his own kidnapping

MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An Indiana man was arrested Thursday by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly staging his own kidnapping and assault in an attempt to contact a protected party.

He is facing charges of aggravated stalking and violating a personal protection order.

The Sheriff’s Office says the incident began when the man used a telecommunications device to contact an individual who holds a personal protection order against him.
