Indiana man faces charges after allegedly faking his own kidnapping and assault

MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An Indiana man is facing charges after allegedly staging his own kidnapping and assault, among other things, in Mottville Township.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office (SJCSO) arrested an Indiana man Friday, who is facing charges of aggravated stalking and violating a personal protection order.

The Indiana man used a telecommunications device to contact a protected party, who reported the incident to SJCSO officials out of concern for his safety.
