INDIANAPOLIS — 2025 saw a dramatic increase in machine gun conversion devices being seized by law enforcement across Central Indiana.
This year, the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force seized 186 illegal devices compared to 20 in 2024. That represents an increase of more than nine times as many devices being seized.
The switches are designed to turn handguns into fully automatic weapons.
