INDIANAPOLIS — Prosecutors have filed a petition to revoke the bond of a former Center Township deputy constable facing rape and a slew of domestic battery charges.
According to court documents obtained by FOX59/CBS4, the petition was filed on Thursday in Marion County Superior Court 32. The petition requested that the court issue a warrant for Semorris Powell’s arrest, alleging that he violated a no-contact order by contacting the victim in the case.

He agreed to sign the no-contact order on June 4, 2024, and was released from custody three days later after posting a corporate surety bond worth $25,000.
Powell is accused of violating the no-contact order on Wednesday by sending more than 25 text messages to the victim. The state added that the texts appeared to be sent from an unknown number that was likely generated by an unknown app.
Case background
The charges brought against Powell stem from his arrest in March 2024, when he was accused of abusing and sexually assaulting the mother of his child. Previous reporting details how Powell allegedly threatened to kill the victim multiple times. The victim told police that Powell was wearing his Center Township deputy constable uniform during most of these instances. He was also reportedly armed with his service weapon.
