IMPD makes pair of arrests for two domestic related murders

INDIANAPOLIS — Two men are now behind bars accused of murder following a pair of domestic-related homicides on Indy’s east and southeast sides.

With her 10-year-old daughter looking on, 36-year-old Ashley Yarrell was shot to death last week at the English Village Apartments.

Police claim the little girl ran for help and, while still covered in her mother’s blood, told neighbors her mom was killed by her boyfriend, 41-year-old Al Fisher II. Neighbors say the child was crying and inconsolable while saying, “He killed my mom. He did it. Why would he do that?”

The following weekend, just before 2:30 pm on Sunday, police were called to a southeast side home where Jeri Mains was allegedly shot by her husband. The 44-year-old victim later died at the hospital.

“I think the big picture that the community must understand is that there are guns on our streets, and there are relationships that are unhealthy. If you know someone going through domestic violence, please have them reach out,” said Danyette Smith with Indy Champions…
