Fever offering $100,000 commission to paint mural at new team facility

INDIANAPOLIS — Hoosier artists are being recruited by the Indiana Fever to paint a mural at the team’s new facility, with the chosen muralist being offered a $100,000 commission.

The Indy Arts Council is partnering with the Fever to find an Indiana-based artist to hand-paint a mural outside of the team’s Sports Performance Center. The $78 million facility is currently under construction at the intersection of Maryland and Delaware streets in downtown Indianapolis.

The mural will be 2,400 square feet and adorn the facility’s north wall, according to the arts council. Pacers Sports & Entertainment, the Fever’s parent company, will be paying for the artwork on the facility, which is expected to be completed by May 2027…
