IMPD: Person injured after reportedly being hit by bullet that ‘fell from the sky’

INDIANAPOLIS — Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after a person was reportedly hit by a bullet that fell from the sky on the southwest side of Indianapolis on Thursday morning.

According to officials with IMPD, officers responded to the 4300 block of S High School Road just before 6 a.m. on Thursday on a report of a person who was shot.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a person who was injured. Officers believed that the person was “hit by a stray bullet that fell from the sky.” The person is awake and breathing.
