‘Something bad happened’ | 4 people allegedly drove a man from Indianapolis to Delaware County and burned him alive

DELAWARE COUNTY, Indiana — Four people have been charged after allegedly driving a man from Indianapolis to Delaware County and burning him to death.

The unidentified man’s body was found after the fire was reported in the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 14. An autopsy found evidence that the man was alive when the car was set on fire with him inside it.

On Jan. 2, four people were charged in connection with the killing:

  • Ameariss Aponte, 23, of Indianapolis, is charged with two counts of murder, arson, kidnapping, criminal confinement and obstruction of justice.
  • Randall Moon Jr., 39, of Indianapolis, is charged with murder, arson, kidnapping, criminal confinement and obstruction of justice.
  • Amy Singhas, 43, of Indianapolis, is charged with aiding in murder, aiding in arson, aiding in kidnapping, aiding in criminal confinement, aiding in obstruction of justice and possession of meth.
  • Megan Sloan, 30, of Indianapolis, is charged with aiding in murder, aiding in arson, aiding in kidnapping, aiding in criminal confinement, and aiding in obstruction of justice.

According to court documents, Aponte and Singhas were arrested in Indianapolis on Dec. 23.

Both Aponte and Singhas admitted to being there when the unnamed man was “wrapped in a fabric” at their home in the 3200 block of East Vermont St. in Indianapolis…
