Man breaks state record with fish caught on Ohio River

FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (WXIX) – An Indiana man is now a state record holder after making an impressive catch in the Ohio River.

Justin Brown, of Floyd County, reeled in a record-setting longnose gar on Dec. 30, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Brown was on the Ohio River when he caught the 23-pound, 12.2-ounce fish, the IDNR said.

His catch broke the previous record, set in 2008, by almost a pound and a half, officials explained…
