Firefighters rescue pets from burning home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis firefighters saved four dogs and a cat from a west side house fire on Thursday morning.

Indianapolis Fire Department crews responded around 2:20 a.m. to a home on Tibbs Avenue near 20th Street, just a few blocks east of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Firefighters at the scene told News 8 that the blaze began in the basement. A combination of cold weather and the home’s design made it difficult for crews to reach the flames…
