Heavy Snowstorm Warning Issued for 8 Counties in Michigan and Indiana

A significant winter storm is already underway across parts of Michigan and Indiana, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue multiple Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for eight counties as heavy lake-effect snow continues to impact the region.

According to official statements from weather.gov and real-time reports circulating on X, snowfall is intense in several areas, with rapidly deteriorating travel conditions reported since early morning.

The most serious impacts are being felt in southwestern Michigan, where a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1:00 p.m. EST for Cass County, Northern Berrien County, and Southern Berrien County.

The National Weather Service Northern Indiana office reports heavy lake-effect snow with additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches expected, primarily east of U.S. Route 31.
