Frustrated neighbors on near east side demand action on snow removal

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Snow, snow, and more snow at Walcott and Vermont streets on the city’s near east side. “We have a lot of people basically getting stuck. Sliding,” Damorion Walker said.

The Department of Public Works said contractors have been plowing residential streets with a single pass down he middle of the roadway. They added that they will be inspecting work completed by the contractors.

But Nadia Ridley, who lives on Walcott Street, said, “No one has come down here at all. It’s the cars doing it themselves reversing and going back and forth.” The street is white with compacted snow. Tire tracks create makeshift roadways…
