INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Blizzard of 1978 tends to overshadow the other major weather events of the 1970s in Indiana. The Feb. 4-5, 1976 ice storm is one of them.
Ice accumulation first began late on Feb. 4 and lasted until late February 5. In a 50-mile-wide swath from Greencastle, IN to New Castle, IN, ice accumulations would add up to 0.5-2″.
