‘The law is not being enforced’: New candidate for Marion County prosecutor announces campaign, criticizes Mears

INDIANAPOLIS — Philip Foust has announced his candidacy for Marion County Prosecutor while criticizing incumbent Ryan Mears.

According to a news release, Foust criticized Mears and his “failed policies that have left Indianapolis less safe.” Foust, a graduate of Harvard’s law school, previously served as a Marion County deputy prosecutor and currently serves as the Speedway Clerk-Treasurer.

In his prior role as deputy prosecutor, Foust worked under Mears, whom he accused of abandoning justice and public safety as “victims are paying the price.”…
